Pickle Bowl Excitement Returns

Pickle Bowl 2015 is underway!  Over 100 students are participating in the month-long journey to the Pickle bowl Championships set to take place on June 24 at Grant D. Morse School.

Students in grades 1-6 are competing in two divisions: JV for grades 1-3 and varsity for grades 4-6.  Each division has both a singles and doubles tournament for both boys and girls.  This week, singles have taken center court with “play-in” games necessary to accommodate the large number of entrants.  The action has been incredible, as players have shown marked improvement over the past year.  As with any single elimination tournament, the drama is exceptionally high as the victories are sweet and defeat is devastating.

So far, we have lost a top-seed in the girl’s varsity division to upset as well as had all of the other favorites taken to game three and stretched to their limit.

The Pickle Bowl began in 2010, and has become a much anticipated event to close out the school year.
